How does licensing work?

How is my license calculated?

SmartDesk licenses are user-based: what you pay for is the number of users you can add to the system — not the number of devices. Each user signs in from the app with an email and password to establish remote desktop connections.

What is the concurrent connection limit?

Every plan includes 3 concurrent sessions per user. That means one user can stay connected to three different remote desktops at the same time. The limit can be adjusted by an administrator from the console.

What is a client user?

Client users log in to the SmartDesk app with an email and password, connect to remote devices, and can manage the address book. Concurrent connection limits per user are set by the administrator.

When should I move to the Enterprise plan?

If you need more than 10 users, or you require a custom server setup, white-label branding, LDAP/SSO or an SLA guarantee, Enterprise is the right choice. We also support migration from device-based licenses.
